    How it works

    1. 1

      Enter an amount

Whole numbers, decimals and fractions like 1/3 or 1 1/2 all work.

    2. 2

      Pick the units

Volume converts to volume, weight to weight, and oven temperatures between °F and °C.

    3. 3

      Measure

US amounts also show the nearest kitchen fraction, so 0.67 cups reads as 2/3 cup.

    Frequently asked questions

How many tablespoons are in a cup?

There are 16 tablespoons in 1 US cup, and 3 teaspoons in each tablespoon, so 48 teaspoons in a cup. Half a cup is 8 tablespoons and a quarter cup is 4.

How many ml are in a cup?

One US cup is about 236.6 ml. Many recipes round it to 240 ml. A metric cup, used in Australia and New Zealand, is exactly 250 ml.

How many grams are in an ounce?

One ounce of weight is 28.35 grams, and one pound (16 ounces) is 453.6 grams. Fluid ounces measure volume, not weight, so they don't convert to grams.

Why can't I convert cups to grams?

A cup measures volume, and grams measure weight. How much a cup weighs depends on the ingredient: a cup of flour weighs much less than a cup of honey. Use the weight given on the package or in the recipe, or a kitchen scale.

What is 350 °F in Celsius?

350 °F is 176.7 °C, which recipes and oven dials round to 175 °C or 180 °C. To convert, subtract 32 from the Fahrenheit temperature, then multiply by 5/9.
